Dragon Magic
The Bond of Intent
The Foundation of Intent
All dragon magic operates on a fundamental principle: intent and willing participation. Dragons cannot be forced to use their abilities, nor can their magic be taken or stolen. Every aspect of dragon magic requires conscious choice and genuine desire to help or connect.

Communication Protocols
The Ancient Ways
Dragon-rider communication follows protocols established over millennia. These "old ways" govern how magical beings interact and respect each other's autonomy.
-
"Aerith'naya vel'shaera?" (May I fly with you?)
-
"Serath'naya mir'shaera?" (May I speak with you?)
Permission Structure
-
Riders must request permission to communicate with dragons other than their bonded partner
-
Dragons grant or deny this permission at their discretion
-
Violation of these protocols causes genuine pain and harm to all involved
Consequences of Forced Contact
When communication boundaries are violated, the mental intrusion causes significant pain to the recipient. This serves as both protection and punishment for those who attempt to force unwanted magical contact.
Healing Magic
Dragon blood possesses extraordinary healing properties, but only when given with genuine intent to heal. A dragon must consciously choose to help - the blood itself has no power without the dragon's willing participation in the healing process.
Cross-Bond Communication
Dragons communicate freely with each other, often serving as intermediaries between their riders. This creates tactical advantages but can also lead to... creative interpretations of their roles as messengers.
