Terros Bloodline

Emerald Dragons

The Foundation

Terros dragons are the largest of the elemental bloodlines, built like living mountains with the temperament to match. They are grounded, practical, and perpetually exasperated by everyone else's poor decision-making. Where other dragons leap into action with passion or cleverness, Terros dragons assess the situation, calculate the risks, and proceed with methodical efficiency—all while internally sighing at the chaos around them.

They are hardworking, disciplined, goal-oriented, and utterly committed to getting things done properly. They show affection through action rather than words, protecting their riders not with declarations of loyalty but by making sure they survive long enough to achieve their goals.

Physical Characteristics

Terros dragons display scales in shades of green—from deep emerald to lighter jade, often with earth-toned highlights. Their build is massive and powerful, designed for endurance and overwhelming strength rather than speed or agility. They are the largest of the elemental dragons, and their presence alone can shift the dynamics of any battlefield.

Their scales are thick and resilient, capable of withstanding attacks that would cripple lighter dragons. They move with deliberate purpose, conserving energy, never wasting motion. When a Terros dragon commits to action, it is with the inevitability of a landslide.

Temperament

Terros dragons are serious, reserved, and perpetually convinced that everyone around them is making terrible decisions. They are not unkind—they simply exist in a state of constant mild disappointment with the impulsiveness, recklessness, and general foolishness they witness daily.

They are emotionally distant, showing their care through practical support rather than overt displays of affection. A Terros dragon will not tell you they love you. They will position themselves between you and danger, predict the storm that would have killed you, and judge your life choices with the weight of centuries—because that's how they show they care.

Despite their grumpy exterior, they are deeply loyal and committed. Once a Terros dragon bonds with a rider, that loyalty is as immovable as stone. They will work tirelessly to help their rider achieve their goals, offering practical guidance and unflinching support—along with a healthy dose of criticism when deserved.

Unique Abilities

Terros dragons possess a connection to the planet itself that extends far beyond simple earth manipulation. They are sensitive to:

  • Weather patterns and atmospheric pressure changes

  • Ground vibrations—detecting movement, earthquakes, or approaching forces

  • Ocean floor currents and underwater geological activity

  • Plant life and natural ecosystems

  • The subtle "wrongness" that precedes natural disasters or magical disturbances

This planetary awareness makes them invaluable for navigation, strategic planning, and early warning systems. A Terros dragon can predict storms hours before they arrive, sense ambushes through ground vibrations, and find safe routes through hostile territory by reading the land itself.

Combat Style

In battle, Terros dragons are devastating through sheer overwhelming force and tactical awareness:

  • Manipulate earth and stone to create barriers, weapons, or traps

  • Cause localized earthquakes and tremors to destabilize enemies

  • Make the ground swallow opponents or create impassable terrain

  • Root themselves to become immovable defensive positions

  • Use their massive jaws and claws to crush opponents with raw strength

  • Predict enemy movements through ground vibrations

  • Sense weather changes to exploit environmental advantages

They prefer defensive and control-based tactics, establishing dominance through superior positioning and environmental manipulation. A Terros dragon doesn't need to outmaneuver opponents—they simply make it impossible for enemies to reach their objective.

Known Terros Dragons

ATHOS - Bonded to Alaric, Eldoria

Athos is a massive emerald-scaled dragon whose presence commands respect and whose temperament matches his rider's perfectly.

Athos shows his bond with Alaric not through warm words but through action. He positions himself to shield his rider in battle, predicts storms that would endanger their missions, and provides tactical assessment with the patience of stone—even when he clearly thinks everyone else's plans are idiotic.

His connection to the earth extends beyond solid land. He feels the pulse of the ocean floor, reads atmospheric pressure like a map, and can sense wrongness building on the horizon long before others notice the threat. This makes him invaluable for strategic planning and navigation, even if his running commentary on everyone's decisions can be... pointed.

Other Terros Dragons

Additional Terros dragons serve in Arcadia, including Ketu (bonded to Birch) and Atel (bonded to Gaden), leading terros squads in Raiden's forces. Like all Terros dragons, they combine overwhelming strength with practical tactical sense, providing the foundation upon which successful campaigns are built.

The Terros Advantage

Terros dragons have shaped defensive strategy and territorial control throughout Terros history. Their ability to read the land itself and manipulate the battlefield makes them essential for any force that values strategic positioning over reckless offense.

Post-Shattering, Terros dragons adapted by expanding their planetary awareness, learning to sense the fractured ley lines and unstable magic that plagues the broken world. In both Eldoria and Arcadia, they serve as the steady foundation that other, flashier dragons build upon.

They are the dragons you want when you need someone to keep everyone alive despite their own best efforts to get themselves killed. Because Terros dragons understand something the others don't: victory isn't about being the fastest or the fiercest. It's about being the last one standing when the dust settles.

And they will stand there, judging you, because they told you so.
